Our Story
SEABIRD CHAPEL HISTORY
Our church in Bandon Oregon had it's beginnings in 1912 when a Church of God tent revival in Coos Bay gave birth to two congregations, one in Bandon and one in Coquille (which is no longer there). The church began as a small gathering of families and as of this writing the granddaughter of one of the original congregation members still attends Seabird Chapel. It has had five different buildings and survived two devastating fires.
Pastor Don Minkler, his wife Sheila and their three children came from Escondido, Calif., in January 1999 to take over pastoring the church from Larry Messick. Don Minkler remained the senior pastor until 2010, when he started a radio ministry (A Holy Calling). Pastor Don now presides over another ministry of the Lord which is "School of the Called Seminary" dedicated to those who have been called by God to shepherd the sheep, those who have not entered a career but a holy calling. The church then installed Jim Minkler, to become senior pastor. He had been serving as youth pastor since 2001. Jim, along with his wife Salena and three children, continue to serve the church in the fullness of Christ today ...

What We Believe
"....All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that Jesus Christ is Immanuel--God with us--manifested in the flesh for the salvation of all who believe in Him through faith and true repentance from sin. He came to love us, take our sins on the cross with Him, die for our punishment, and rise again, bringing all who believe in Him into new life with the Father. He is our Savior and King, our Lord and Best Friend. In Him all things find their place and purpose.
Our eyes are focused on Him.
